Massachusetts Wood Stove Change-Out Program

I didn’t believe it when I heard that the Massachusetts wood stove change-out program was still giving out rebates to offset the cost of newer, EPA Certified wood stoves. This is a program that started during the early 2000s as a way to help cut back on environmental pollution.. It’s really a great program, I was under the assumption that the money for this program had disappeared.

All wood stoves legally manufactured for sale in the United States on or after July 1 1988 were required to achieve EPA certification and are considered to be EPA certified. The rebates for this program range from $500 to $1,750 per change-out, low-income rebates range from $2,000 to $3,250, based on stove specifications.

To qualify for a rebate you need to purchase an EPA Certified wood stove, which you can purchase from us, The Center Center, in Cataumet, MA . Money for this program is allocated on a first come, first serve basis, with funding opening up at the beginning of this year, 2019. Now is the best time to get the ball rolling, even though this is an easy endeavor, from start to finish might take up to a few weeks to complete.

The busiest time for sales of new home heating equipment is in the fall, however; money allocated for funding this program will typically run out by mid-summer. Don’t put off buying your new EPA certified wood stove or pellet stove if you’d like to take advantage of these rebates.

Give us a call (508) 563-3280 or stop into our showroom and see why we're a Platinum Dealer. Our stove lineup includes Harman, Quadrafire, Lennox, Napoleon, Regency, Enviro, and more!
